Rice University just admitted over 500 early decision applicants: See students’ emotional reactions to the news

HOUSTON – The college admission process can be a difficult one for students everywhere, but the joy of getting those highly-anticipated acceptance letters makes it all worth it in the end.

Houston’s Rice University has just admitted 519 out of 4,681 total new early-decision applicants for the 2024-2025 school year and the students’ reactions to getting the news will put the biggest smile on your face (or make you cry tears of joy).

Located on a 300-acre forested campus, Rice University is consistently ranked among the nation’s top 20 universities by U.S. News & World Report.

Rice has notable schools of architecture, business, continuing studies, engineering, humanities, music, natural sciences and social sciences and is home to the Baker Institute for Public Policy.

With 4,574 undergraduates and 3,982 graduate students, Rice’s undergraduate student-to-faculty ratio is just under six to one. The university has been ranked number one for lots of race/class interaction, number two for best-run colleges and number 12 for quality of life by the Princeton Review. Rice is also rated as a best value among private universities by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance.
