HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – One person died, and two were hospitalized after a fiery two-vehicle crash on Friday in north Harris County, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.
The crash happened in the 14500 block of the North Freeway in the northbound lanes. The northbound lanes were closed for about five hours while authorities investigated.

A man in his 50s was driving with his grandson and crashed into the back of another car. The second vehicle caught on fire, and the driver died at the scene.
Witnesses told authorities the second car had stopped on the highway because it was having mechanical issues.
The man and his grandson were taken to the hospital. They suffered minor injuries.
The driver, who crashed into the other vehicle, did not appear to be intoxicated. No charges are expected.
