HOUSTON – One man is dead and four others were injured after a shooting broke out outside of a southeast Houston club on Sunday, according to the Houston Police Department.
Officers received several calls about a shooting near the Gulf Freeway and Glenvista Street.
Around 3:20 a.m., authorities made it to the scene and found 20-year-old Isaiah Parker laying on the feeder road with gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead.
KPRC 2′s T.J. Parker spoke to the man’s brother and sister.
They were with him hours before this shooting at a family Christmas party.
“We took a picture there. I left early because I have to work today. Didn’t know that was going to be the last time I was going to see him,” Parker’s brother, Stephen Nelson said.
What happened
Several people got into an argument outside of a club and started shooting
At least two people fired their guns. Authorities said all of those involved were males around 17 years old or in their early 20s.
Some of the rounds also hit nearby businesses.
After the shooting, the victim ran toward the highway and collapsed on the feeder road. Several citizens tried to provide first aid.
Five other males fled from the scene in a stolen 2015 blue Toyota Tundra. Four of the males were then dropped off at a local hospital with gunshot wounds.
Three of them had non life-threatening injuries and one person had serious injuries.
Authorities are still looking for the fifth person and the truck with the following Texas license plate: JLX0756.
