DEER PARK, Texas – Shell Deer Park shared a message on Wednesday that there will be flaring at the chemical plant.
The plant is in the 5900 block of Highway 225.

The company is starting up a unit, and this will cause elevated flaring for several days, Shell Deer Park shared on the CAER community online emergency messaging system.
The flame will be mostly visible during the evening.
The company said it is taking measures to reduce noise or smoke.
“We want to apologize in advance for any inconveniences this activity may cause. We will continue to keep the community informed through CAER Online and social media,” Shell Deer Park said.
The flaring also helps keep the chemical plant safe.
