HOUSTON – Two people are dead and two others have been injured following a crash on SH-249 in northwest Harris County Thursday morning.
Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a deadly crash on SH-249 and Breen around 7 a.m.

According to a corrected tweet from Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, two people are dead, and a rideshare driver and passenger were transported to the hospital in serious condition. They are expected to survive.
In initial reports, Gonzalez said a child had been injured during the accident, but later said that information was incorrect.
Gonzalez said speed played a factor in the deadly crash, but it’s not clear if the rideshare driver or the other vehicle was speeding.
Update: no child involved, initial info was incorrect, cpr was being administered on an adult not a child.
