“Houston Humane Society is committed to providing the best care for these animals. But with no empty kennels available inside, the shelter is in desperate need of immediate temporary homes and is doing all they can to ensure these nursing mom dogs and puppies are placed with a foster family by the end of the day,” they said.

Fosters will need to provide the mother dogs with:

  • A safe place (bathroom, guest room, garage, laundry room or sectioned off space)
  • Fresh food
  • Water
  • Bedding
  • Daily bathroom breaks

“Houston Humane Society will supply foster families with the supplies to care for these animals, however donations are always welcome. The shelter is in current need of puppy pads, puppy formula, 2nd step formula (weaning formula), 4oz bottles and plastic pools,” the Humane Society said.

The Houston Humane Society is located at 14700 Almeda Road in Houston. Those interested in becoming a foster can click here.
