Mayor Whitmire has asked city departments and external partners to adjust plans to provide resources earlier on Monday to address abnormally cold temperatures in the region.
He also urged nonessential workers, including city officials to not attend city hall on Tuesday, and work remotely, if possible.

‘We’re going to lead by example,” Whitmire said. “While I ask first responders, public works officials, and other essential workers to come in, nonessential workers should work from home and stay off the roads.”
Whitmire added that he will make a determination for nonessential workers on Tuesday. However, for Wednesday, he says things should return to normal service.
