HOUSTON – Houston-area courthouses have announced closures amid the arctic weather in the region for Tuesday.

City of Houston

City of Houston Municipal Courts have canceled Jury service on Tuesday, Jan. 15. Those who are scheduled for Jury Duty on Tuesday do not need to reschedule their service if scheduled during the closure period. All normal court operations are expected to resume Wednesday.

Harris County Criminal Courts at Law

Harris County Criminal Courts at Law will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024, due to inclement weather and the potential for dangerous road conditions. All cases set for Tuesday will be rescheduled to the next available date. This includes cases set on the dockets for each of the 16 Harris County Criminal Courts at Law.

Harris County Civil Courts at Law

Harris County Civil Courts at Law will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024, due to inclement weather and the potential for dangerous road conditions. All cases set for Tuesday will be rescheduled. This includes cases on the dockets for each of the four Harris County Civil Courts at Law

Fort Bend County

In response to inclement weather, hazardous road conditions, and widespread school closures, Fort Bend County Offices, Courts, and Facilities will be closed on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Consequently, all scheduled court dockets for the day and jury services are canceled.

Montgomery County

Due to inclement weather, the District Clerk’s Office will be closed on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Jury has also been cancelled for Tuesday, January 16, 2024.
