Revitalize your afternoons: KPRC 2′s Bill Spencer unveils 3 rapid energy hacks to conquer the afternoon crash

It’s early on a Monday at work and Patsy Lusignan starts the day strong, fired-up, and full of energy.

But by 2:30 in the afternoon, like so many of us have done, so many times, she starts to crash.

“It’s terrible. You’re just, you’re just sitting there and your eyes start getting heavy and you’re just like, fading fast. My eyes get very heavy, very heavy, and my body’s just kind of relaxes a little bit. I’d call it the afternoon crash,” Patsy said.

Oh, come on now, you know what I’m talking about!

We’ve all been through it at some point and It used to happen to me ALL THE TIME.

I’d start nodding off in front of my computer, caught in that afternoon brain fade and then suddenly I found an answer in a fitness magazine I was reading.

I read an article about one of my heroes, Clint Eastwood, and he said he had an incredible way of waking himself up and filling himself with instant energy.

He said he’d simply take his shoes off in the office, hit the floor, and start doing pushups.

That was 15 years ago, and I have been doing the same thing ever since.

Now, working with two top-notch Houston fitness trainers, Thomas Chelly with Clients First Fitness and Leia Crowe with Leia Nicole Fitness, I am about to show you three, simple, energy-creating, full-body, exercise hacks you can do right there at the office, in your work clothes that will fire you up for hours.

1. Air Squats

Leia Crowe suggests starting with air squats, a fantastic way to get your blood flowing and muscles engaged. Clear a space by pushing your chair aside, widen your feet, and squat down to a comfortable depth. This straightforward movement is excellent for activating various muscle groups and can be easily done in your office space.

2. The Walkdown

Thomas Chelly introduces the Walkdown, a dynamic exercise that combines stretching with a shoulder and chest workout. Stand tall and gradually walk down, keeping your legs as straight as possible. Reach a full push-up plank position, then push yourself back up. This exercise not only boosts energy but also provides a good stretch for the hamstrings.

3. Desk Pushup Mountain Climber

Leia demonstrates the Desk Pushup Mountain Climber, a versatile exercise that targets multiple muscle groups. With hands on the desk, perform pushups while incorporating mountain climber movements.

Start with just 10 repetitions of each exercise and gradually increase to 20 or more as your fitness level improves.

These office-friendly energy hacks are designed to seamlessly fit into your busy schedule, offering a convenient solution to staying active and energized throughout the workday.
