HOUSTON – As the KPRC 2 team continues working to get answers regarding the United States Postal Service debacle, another Houston area small business owner told us that the mail delays have cost her thousands of dollars.
The owner and CEO of the Nap Bar, Khaliah O. Guillory, told KPRC 2′s Re’Chelle Turner that earlier this month, she shipped off a very important package and it never left Texas.
“This could have all be resolved with a simple line, hey we have some delays going on right now that are out of our control,” she said.
Khaliah is a credentialed certified sleep coach by an accredited company. The better sleep box and VR was created during the pandemic. Nap Bar was launched pre pandemic April 2019.
“One of the ideas was how we can we curate sleep and get it out to the masses, so we leveraged the Oculus headset,” she said.
According to their website, the Nap Bar is the “first pay-by-the-snooze facility in Texas.” It goes on to say that they “offer communities and companies onsite and in-suite rest sanctuaries to help reduce sleep deprivation and increase productivity.”
Guillory said her team put a package in the mail that was headed for the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, and expected it to get there before the deadline date on Jan. 13. The boxes of products were going to be featured during a three-day exhibition at an artist lounge.

Everything seemed to be going as planned until Guillory noticed that her shipment had never made it to Los Angeles, California.
On Thursday, she tracked the package, and it was sitting at the USPS sorting facility in North Houston.
“So, I stopped what I was doing, got in my car and ran over to the local post office the same person that helped me he said I know why you are here there’s an issue with the packages. He said I’m sorry,” Guillory mentioned.
It’s another day, another postal mess.
“The good news is that I’m not going to let this stop the show,” she said.
Guillory has been in constant communication with the Grammys about the delays. They are giving her an extension.
She also filed a claim with USPS and as of Friday, the package was at a location in Dallas.
Guillory is in the process of making more products and will be getting on a flight next week to hand deliver her items to the Grammys.

The Grammys are scheduled for Feb. 4 in L.A.
With that being just days away, Guillory says she is now among the hundreds of stressed customers who say they would like USPS to take some type of accountability for the delays.
USPS told KPRC 2 that they have hired 30 additional employees to help fix the mail delivery backlog by this week.
KPRC 2 was the first station in the Houston area to report on these delays. We will continue working to get answers.
