Harris County district court judge suspended following December’s arrest in Galveston

HOUSTON – A Harris County district court judge has been suspended per the State Commission on Judicial Conduct, according to posting Thursday afternoon.

Frank Aguilar, the 228th District Court judge in Harris County, has been placed on suspension “pending criminal matter.”

On December 31, Aguilar was arrested in Galveston on a family violence charge. He has since been released from jail on a $1,500 bond. Details on the accusations against Aguilar has not been released.

Aguilar was previously charged with assaulting a woman he was dating in 2010, but a Harris County jury later found him not guilty of the offense.

He also is the judge in the state’s case against Gerald Goines and others in the Harding Street case.
