Post Office experiment; tracking package from San Antonio returning to Houston

KSAT in San Antonio unboxing the USPS/ Post Office package from Houston. (click2houston.com)

HOUSTON – KPRC 2 is putting the United States Postal Service to the test. After dozens of complaints about slow and missing package deliveries, we decided to try an experiment. We mailed two packages to our colleagues in San Antonio and Detroit. You can read all about it here.

Our colleagues at KSAT in San Antonio unboxed the package after it arrived days late and.... it was broken. Ouch.

On Thursday, they put together a new package and inserted the same AirTag tracker, and now we’re following the return trip in real-time. You can too!

See the interactive map below.

Brand new, you can scroll along at the bottom of the map to see the progress. Plus, as the package makes its way to Houston, be sure to zoom in on the map to see its movement along area tollways, freeways, and streets.

The USPS says the package is scheduled to arrive, on Saturday, February 10, by 9 p.m.

Update: Sunday, February 11, 2024 @ 10:00 a.m.: The package spent most of the weekend at the North Houston USPS Distribution Center. However, this morning it ‘pinged’ to a Post Office in Southwest Houston.

Update: Friday, February 9, 2024 @ 9:43 a.m.: The package is currently at the North Houston USPS Distribution Center.
