Mother, 1-year-old boy found dead in Beaumont park

Police say the case is not connected to an Amber Alert out of Houston

BEAUMONT, Texas – Police in Beaumont are investigating after a mother and her 1-year-old son were found dead in a park Saturday afternoon.

According to 12News, the NBC affiliate in Beaumont, police responded to Perlstein Park at 800 Landis Dr.

Jefferson County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Ben Collins told 12News the mother and son were found inside a vehicle.

Police are investigating the incident as a murder/suicide.

Officer Carol Riley with the Beaumont Police Department said the incident is not related to the Amber Alert issued for 1-year-old Noah Johnson who was last seen with his mother, 38-year-old Kamilah Johnson.
