Caught on Camera: Man captured putting items up kilt at Spring antique mall

SPRING, Texas – An investigation is underway after a man was captured on surveillance video placing antique items under his kilt at the Antique Gallery in Spring.

KPRC 2′s Corley Peel spoke with the Manager, Susan Golden. She says the incident happened on Thursday, February 8.

“I was really in shock. I didn’t know what to say or think,” said Golden.

Several cameras inside antique dealers’ booths captured the man placing an item under his kilt, then placing it back on a shelf.

Golden said the man was in the store with a woman. She said they were in the mall for hours.

She said the antique dealers have access to the mall’s WI-FI camera system that they regularly watch to monitor their booths. Golden said that is how one dealer spotted the man doing the inappropriate acts.

Golden said employees believe the man and woman have been in the store before. Possibly two weeks before Thursday’s incident. She said no one suspected the man was doing anything inappropriate.

“The employees recognized them and said that the guy was really nice and she was really nice,” she said.

According to Golden, the dealers threw away the objects the man touched.

“The people I got the videos from all came in and sterilized their booth and cleaned everything and took the objects out,” said Golden.

Both Harris County Precinct 4 Constables and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office were contacted. Investigators say the case is being investigated as criminal mischief. Golden and viewers tell KPRC 2 the man has been seen doing inappropriate acts at other antique stores in the area.

“I hope they catch him. I don’t want him on the property and I hopes he’s not on anyone else’s property,” said Golden.
