HOUSTON – Homicide detectives are currently investigating the fatal shooting of a teenager in southwest Houston.
The incident happened Sunday night, just before 10 p.m., on Brookmeade Drive near Bathhurst Drive.

According to a Houston Police Department spokesperson, a woman walked into her front yard to take out her trash at around 11 p.m.
Moments later, she found a 17-year-old teen in her yard with multiple gunshot wounds. The woman called the police, and medical personnel arrived on the scene, pronouncing the teen dead.
After reviewing surveillance footage, investigators determined that the shooting happened at 9:54 p.m. Although the video did not capture the actual shooting, security cameras did record the sound of gunfire.
The Harris County Medical Examiner has not yet released the victim’s identity.
Detectives have stated that there is currently no known suspect or motive, and the victim did not live in the neighborhood.
