HOUSTON – There is an ongoing investigation at the Harris County Joint Processing Center after reports of a suspect passing away while in custody.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies said the patient was transported from the Joint Processing Center to St. Joseph Hospital where they were pronounced dead shortly after midnight.

It’s not clear how the suspect died, but deputies said there is an ongoing investigation into the death.
