Amanda Edwards maintains positivity, waits for more votes to come through in Texas’ 18th Congressional District race

HOUSTON – Despite major outlets like NBC News showing Sheila Jackson Lee as the winner with an overwhelming majority, Amanda Edwards still has not conceded.

Edwards has maintained positivity and continuously showed grace.

She greeted the audience briefly welcoming them to her watch party and also reiterating two words she says were most important and those two words were thank you.

She thanked her voters for showing up to the polls and then coming to show their support.

The people at her watch party are the people who believed in Edward’s mission which was in part taking an innovative approach to resolving lingering challenges, realizing potential, and delivering the results the community deserves.

After leaving the podium, she walked around the room and with a big smile greeted everyone individually.

It’s unclear what’s next for Edwards, but after speaking with some of the people who filled the room, there is strong hope she will run again.
