HOUSTON – An 18-wheeler crash caused all main lanes of the Southwest Freeway to be shut down on Monday afternoon, causing a massive traffic backup.

According to Houston Transtar, the accident is in the northbound lanes at Bellaire Boulevard.
From looking at Transtar, it appears a red-colored truck is facing a concrete barrier. It is unclear if any other vehicles were impacted.
Crews from the Houston Police Department were working the scene.
As of 3 p.m., the main lanes remained closed with no set reopening time.
