“Historically, the Katy area was known for rice farming.” Rice said in a press release. “The definition of ‘grange’ is a farm or agricultural estate, which identifies with the region. We will strive to be true to this heritage and retain the character of a small town as development continues.”
During a ceremony held at Beckendorff Farms in Katy on March 21, the name was revealed.
Katy addresses will be assigned to the homes in the community near Morton Road and FM 2855. When completed, Grange will accommodate approximately 2,400 homes, with sales expected to start in early 2025. Students will attend Katy Independent School District schools.
