SOUTH HOUSTON – A man is now dead after being hit by a vehicle while walking in South Houston.
According to police, the man was walking down Galveston Road near Edgebrook Drive around 2 a.m. Thursday morning.

The man was reportedly not in a crosswalk at the time.
The driver remained on the scene, and authorities said they did not appear to be intoxicated.
So far, there have been no charges filed against the driver.
