HOUSTON – Family and friends will gather Friday to remember a 26-year-old who died in a road rage shooting.
Keenan Gill was shot in the head on Monday, Mar. 18, on the S. Sam Houston Parkway and Hillcroft Avenue near Missouri City. He died the next day.

Houston police said a driver in a dark-colored vehicle fired several rounds at Gill before taking off.
Keenan’s mother, Kimberly Gill, spoke to KPRC 2 on Mar. 22. She said Keenan’s organs were harvested. Kimberly said she had no idea her son was an organ donor and a family friend matched for his kidneys.
Gill says it’s something positive that came from his tragic death, but she still has questions about the gunman who took his life.
When she learned Keenan was in an accident, she had no idea he was the victim of a road rage shooting.
Kimberly fears her son’s case may not get the attention it deserves after HPD revealed more than 260,000 incident reports were not fully investigated due to manpower.
Kimberly told Turner she is tired of innocent people losing their lives on Houston’s roadways.
Kimberly describes Keenan as a good son who was loved by many people. He graduated from Prairie View A&M University in 2022 with a degree in Communications.
A balloon release is scheduled to be held Friday at 6:30 p.m.
