HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Violence at two different Houston area birthday parties and another family gathering left a total of three people dead over the weekend.
Rosewick Street shooting
The first shooting happened around 8:45 p.m. Friday at 800 Rosewick Street.
According to police, around 20-30 people were having a family friendly get together when one man became intoxicated and was asked to leave.
The man reportedly went outside and became more belligerent when his ride didn’t show up.
The man then pulled out a pistol and started firing, striking another man. The victim was taken to the hospital, but later died.
The suspect has not been arrested.
Muscatine Street shooting
Another shooting happened around 1 a.m. early Saturday morning at a home on Muscatine Street in Jacinto City.
The shooting happened at the home where over 50 people were in attendance for somebody’s 21st birthday.
At some point during the party, gunshots were fired and two people were hit. They were taken to a hospital where they later died.
No arrests have been made.
Winsome Lane shooting
In a separate incident around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, three people were injured when gunshots were fired at a party at the Tiffany Apartments in the 6100 block of Winsome Lane in Houston.
KPRC 2 obtained surveillance video that captured gunfire and arguing outside the apartment.
Investigators say the neighbor had come to the apartment hosting the birthday party several times and asked they turn down the music. The third time, the neighbor came back with a gun and demanded they turn the music off and fired the weapon in the air while the party-goers were struggling with it. They were able to wrestle it from him.
Police said the shooter went to his home, retrieved another gun and began shooting through the back door of the apartment hosting the birthday party, striking three people.
Police continue to search for the suspected shooter.
