EMS arrived and confirmed the man was dead.
Later Tuesday, Zwink Elementary’s principal, Stacey Vaglienty, sent a message to parents and staff of the school confirming the man who died was custodian Daniel Matthews.
Vaglienty said Matthews died after suffering a medical emergency. KPRC 2 was told Matthews may have suffered a heart attack.
“As adults, we are well aware of the substantial emotional impact that follows the death of a loved one or friend. We are working with our Klein ISD Crises Response Team to support any students and staff. Counselors and other support staff will be available to students, staff, and parents as needed,” Vaglienty said in the message.
