HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Authorities say an arrest has been made in connection to the shooting death of a transgender woman in 2021.
Martina Caldera, 38, was found shot to death near an overpass on the East Freeway and Sheldon in Channelview on Dec. 6, 2021.

On Thursday, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said an arrest has been made in the case.
James McNutt, 54, was arrested and is charged with murder in connection to Caldera’s death. He has been booked into the Harris County Jail.
Gonzalez said no motive for the shooting has been determined at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
