On top of severe weather to deal with, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez took to social media about a traffic hazard in the southbound main lanes of North Fwy. Initially, the sheriff said “a piece of metal on the roadway” was responsible for causing damage to several vehicles.
It appears that an expansion joint has come loose. @TxDOTHouston is on-scene and the goal is to have it fixed by this afternoon. Southbound traffic is moving freely, with only the right two lanes blocked. https://t.co/QR9PxEhfM6 pic.twitter.com/NZZWEbzq3d
