KLEIN, TX – Klein’s superintendent says she’s just as disgusted as other parents after the arrest of a Klein Cain cosmetology teacher who’s charged with sex trafficking and compelling prostitution.

“Like you, we are parents with children who attend Klein ISD schools, and we are disgusted,” Dr. Jenny McGown said in her letter to parents districtwide.
“The reprehensible behavior of this individual is not representative of the over 7,500 remarkable employees in our Klein Family who work tirelessly every day to educate our children,” McGown said.
Kedria Grisby was arrested Monday, a year and a half after her son, Roger Magee, was arrested on the very same charges. Her bond was set at $750,000.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez has told us there were three victims in the case, a 15-year-old, 16-year-old and 17-year-old who were reported runaways.
“It appears Grigsby recruited troubled juveniles from local high schools by offering them a place to stay, which would be a hotel. Additional teen victims have come forward stating that Grigsby was also attempting to recruit them while attending school,” Gonzalez said on Monday when Grigsby was arrested.
Superintendent McGown also tells parents the district had no idea what was happening.
“We have heard concerns that some in our community are spreading misinformation that Klein ISD knew that Kedria Grigsby was committing these heinous crimes. This is completely false.”
Four facts in the ongoing investigation she says are:
- In February 2023, an individual notified human resources that they had a report in Harris County related to Kedria Grigsby.
- Upon receiving this information, and as part of our immediate investigation into the allegation, our Klein ISD Police Department contacted the Harris County Sheriff’s Office with the case number provided to us by the individual. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office reported back to us that Kedria Grigsby was not a suspect.
- The district received no other allegations or reports of criminal activities related to Kedria Grigsby until this Monday, April 8, 2024, when the Harris County Sheriff’s Department contacted our police department regarding charges and a pending arrest.
- That same day, the Klein Police Department immediately apprehended Kedria Grigsby and assisted the Harris County Sheriff’s Office with her arrest.
McGown asks parents to talk with their kids and to call the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at (346) 286-4646 if they have information to share.
