1 dead after collision involving ambulance on I-45
Early Saturday morning, a collision involving two vehicles occurred on Interstate 45 southbound near the Airtex exit. An ambulance responding to the scene of the crash blocked traffic to assist. While stationary, the ambulance was struck from behind by another vehicle.
The collision resulted in one fatality. No injuries were reported among Houston Fire Department personnel at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
