Thursday morning, X user @fredoRdz posted a video of someone holding a navy helmet with a light blue H with a red outline and a star. The user indicates that the helmet will be part of the Texans’ uniform release, and the boxes in the background labeled with Riddell—a prominent NFL helmet outfitter—seem to imply its validity.

An hour and a half after the rumored new helmet hit the timeline, the official Texans’ X account posted a gif of a dripping faucet, seeming to obliquely address the “leak.”

The so-called helmet release came nearly a month after a different leak prompted Texans’ owner Cal McNair to voluntarily release an image of wide receivers Nico Collins and Tank Dell wearing one of the unreleased uniforms.

With multiple teams introducing new threads ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft, uniform leaks have been a recurring theme this offseason. Earlier this morning, the Detroit Lions released their new jerseys ahead of schedule after a leak. Other teams dropping new looks include the Denver Broncos, New York Jets and Cleveland Browns.
The Texans’ four new uniforms will be officially announced on Tuesday, April 23, at 713 Music Hall.
