A tornado touchdown was confirmed southeast of West Texas Friday afternoon, the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office told KCEN TV.
According to the National Weather Service, a tornado warning was in effect for McLennan County until 1:15 p.m.

A Tornado Watch was issued for several Central Texas counties Friday.
The counties impacted include the following: Bell, Coryell, Falls, Freestone, Hamilton, Hill, Lampasas Leon, Limestone, McLennan, Milam, Mills, Navarro and Robertson.
According to the Waco Fire Department, firefighters are conducting damage assessments to multiple structures and properties in the Falcon Pointe and Valley View Neighborhoods.

Will the Houston area see an impact?
While Friday’s chance of storms is 20%, if this happens between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m., the isolated cells can be strong. Otherwise, it’s a warm, breezy and humid day. Temperatures climb to the mid-80s with southeast winds of 15-25 mph and gusts up to 30 mph.
The cool front that brings storms doesn’t arrive until Sunday afternoon. But Saturday will be windy! A wind advisory may be issued and the southeast wind gusts will affect your outdoor plans. Wind gusts could get as high as 40 mph.
