Huntsville State Park announced it will be closed to the public at least through Saturday after heavy rainfall and flooding have impacted northern Harris County and Montgomery County.
After initially announcing a closure for Thursday, the park sent an alert out to visitors confirming the closure would proceed through Saturday.

Along with other surrounding areas, Huntsville has been handed a Flash Flood Warning by the Houston branch of the National Weather Service.

The announcement came just hours after Huntsville ISD canceled Thursday’s classes across the district, due to street flooding that created unsafe driving conditions across the county.
