Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice delay opening 15 units, parole offices due to severe weather conditions

HOUSTON – Severe weather continues to slam our northern counties in the Houston-area. Several roads have been closed, especially in areas like Walker County due to flooding and schools are canceling or delaying classes because of the heavy rain.

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice announced Thursday on Facebook it will have a delayed opening for several units and parole offices for non-essential staff members. This means the facilities will open at 10 a.m. instead of their usual times.

Here’s a list of units that will be delayed in opening for non-essential staff:

  • Byrd
  • Diboll
  • Duncan
  • Ellis
  • Estelle
  • Ferguson
  • Goodman
  • Goree
  • Holliday
  • Huntsville
  • Lewis
  • Polunsky
  • Wainwright
  • Wynne
