The West Fork of the San Jacinto River and the Trinity River will continue to experience major flooding due to the release of water from Lake Conroe and Lake Livingston.

Areas around Houston are facing up to three more inches of rain this weekend, according to KPRC 2 Meteorologist Justin Stapleton.

The Flood Watch for Houston and SE Texas is now extended through Sunday evening. Waters are rising in rivers and lakes over the weekend, and they aren’t expected to go down quickly. Flooding issues will persist through early next week, Stapleton said.

Constable Zack Harkness, Pct. 6 Constable, Liberty County posted the following on social media:

The Pct. 6 Constables Office has 1 deputy on duty today including myself. We have no boats or high water trucks assigned to our office. We have submitted for those items and have been denied. If you need a rescue call 911 and they will dispatch the closest and most appropriate unit available. There are a few locations including the Southern crossing community and locations south of 105 that are not accessible for rescue vehicles to make scene at this time. We do need private boats to help as all our local resources cannot make some of the incoming calls.
