LIVINGSTON, Texas – The saying is true... there is always a rainbow somewhere after the storm.
And that’s certainly the case for one Livingston woman who lost everything last week during the vicious rainfall that hit the area.

Nakiyah Youngblood, her boyfriend, and their 6-year-old were faced with a sudden decision after they experienced rushing waters into their home.
All of this happening just three weeks before her due date.
The Spencer Solves It team learned about this young couple when KPRC 2′s Corley Peel first told their dramatic story last week.
“It took us by surprise. I didn’t think it was going to be this bad,” said Nakiyah’s boyfriend, Johnathan Brown.
Brown said he and his family woke up to high water at their doorstep.
“When I saw the refrigerator floating, I knew it was time to get out,” said Brown.
Fortunately, his neighbors rushed over to help.
“The neighbor ended up coming and knocking on our door and said ‘Hey, we saw your water is this high, is there anything we can do to help?’ We just gave him our daughter, said put her on your back and take her with you, we’re right behind you,” said Youngblood.
They don’t know how to swim, so they waded, walked and struggled to stay above the water which was up to their necks. At one point Jonathan fell. At another, a trailer floating by them narrowly missed hitting Nykiah and Jonathan pulled her out of the way. This went on for 150 to 200 feet through deep water and the current.

“I broke down in the end. We have a baby on the way, and we just lost everything,” said Brown. “We just look at it like everything happens for a reason. Maybe this is a minor setback for a major comeback. God is going to bless us through all of this,” added Youngblood.
The family immediately knew that it would be unlikely for them to return to their home due to the damage.
That’s where the Spencer Solves It team stepped in!
Thanks to Bill Spencer, the KPRC 2 team, and the help of an anonymous donor, the family will have a roof over their heads just in time to welcome their newest addition home.
The donor told our KPRC 2 Bill Spencer that they would provide the family with a condominium and pay for their rent for the next year.
With this help, the family will be able to have adequate shelter in the neighborhood of their choice.
