Man found dead inside burning Crosby home, cause of fire unknown

CROSBY, Texas – Authorities in Crosby are piecing together what led to a deadly house fire overnight Monday.

It happened a little before 1 a.m. at a home on Krenek Rd. off Hwy 90 in northeast Harris County. That’s when officials say a neighbor driving by the home on fire, called 911.

Several fire crews from various departments assisted and when responding firefighters got to the scene, they found heavy flames in the back of the home. Additionally, an unidentified man, believed to be in his 50s, was found unresponsive in the living room.

Firefighters got the man out of the home, but despite taking lifesaving measures, he did not make it.

It’s unclear what caused the fire, as of this writing, but an investigation is underway.
