A new study from WalletHub looked at 100 metro areas in the U.S., narrowing their searches to find residents an affordable and fun vacation. The data they examined ranged from the cheapest flight costs, and the number of attractions, to the average meal price for two people.
Their findings led researchers to report Texas as one of the top summer destinations, along with Florida. In fact, Austin and El Paso were ranked 6th and 9th best summer travel destinations, and even San Antonio made the top 20 by taking 19th place.
Houston ranked 47th place - not bad.
Interestingly, California has among the largest numbers with the most unpopular summer destinations with only Los Angeles taking the number 20 spot.
