The tragic incident happened around 6:30 p.m., according to Houston police on Ave. O and W Hedrick near Buffalo Bayou. First responders with the Houston Fire Department also arrived to assist and found a woman inside her SUV next to a house.

Lt. Willkens with the Houston PD said the woman, 31, is a mother of four who went outside to move her car out of fear a tree would fall. However, before she could move the car, Lt. Willkens said the tree fell on her vehicle, killing her.

Her family identified her as Christin Leann Martinez. She leaves behind four sons, aged 12, 10, 8, and 1.
