During the annual Jeep Weekend on the Bolivar Peninsula, the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office and state troopers responded to three shootings early Saturday morning.
In total, there were three victims and one suspect was in custody. One of the victims, a 33-year-old man, died.

More than 300 people were arrested.
There was one fatality among the victims, but it’s unclear if they died at the scene or if they died later.

According to Major Ray Nolen of the GCSO, another victim was shot in the chest and airlifted out in critical condition.
Another victim received treatment from law enforcement and EMS after being grazed on the head.
Law enforcement arrested one suspect after a short pursuit, but it is unknown whether other suspects were involved in the other shootings.
The event has seen many arrests over the years, including over 200 in 2023. As of 11:30 p.m. Saturday night there had been 189 arrests made this weekend.
According to GCSO Captain Jack Walker, over 20 charges were brought against 14 people before the weekend even started.
