The sheriff’s office said the child was identified and his parent’s information was obtained. The child’s grandmother saw the post about the child on social media and contacted dispatch with a possible location of the mother. The child’s mother was found at the LaQuinta Inn, close to where the child was found. It is unknown how the child got outside.

“The child is currently with other family members and has not been turned over to the mother at this time. CPS is involved, and our detectives and deputies are thoroughly investigating the circumstances before the child is released to the mother or any family member. We will consult with the District Attorney’s Office as part of this process,” the sheriff’s office said.
