CYPRESS, Texas – A local nonprofit is helping to put smiles on the faces of residents impacted by last week’s EF-1 tornado
“We’ve been doing it for like four hours going around all of Cypress,” said Jaden Tyler.
The children of Zoey’s Outreach Ministry and their parents passed out food, cold water, toiletries, snow cones and even a few hugs.
“I just love it, because the people have smiles on their face and I like to brighten their day up,” said 5-year old Amelia Smith.
The non-profit said it’s focus is to teach and be there for the community.
“It’s so important to show kids this because they are our future leaders they are our future Presidents and Lawyers and we have to instill greatness in them,” said Candus Johnson, the Executive Director of Zoey’s Outreach Ministry.
Alicia Mersiovski and her family had significant damage to their home located n the Bridgeland neighborhood. They told KPRC 2 they were thankful for the kind gesture.
“We are definitely just blessed, definitely the Bridgeland community people have just been coming by, we don’t even know them and they have just been dropping off gift cards and food and we have just been so, so, blessed,”
