Dealing with ‘storm anxiety’ after Houston’s deadly Derecho? Here’s what severe weather to expect this week

HOUSTON – With more severe storms moving through the greater Houston area this week, the forecast may cause some anxiety for those who are still picking up the pieces of their homes or dealing with power outages.

The KPRC 2 Storm Tracker Team is monitoring a flood and severe weather threat this afternoon and overnight, just one of a few rounds of strong storms forecast to hit this week.

Damaging winds, hail, and one or two tornadoes are possible with these storms.

As of 10 a.m. Tuesday, Centerpoint Energy’s power outage tracker showed 276 active outages from the deadly derecho that hit Houston nearly two weeks ago.

KPRC 2 Reporter Corley Peel is speaking with people who are preparing for today’s storm. Look for her live report on KPRC 2 News this evening.
