In response to the severe storms, tornadoes, flooding, and derecho winds, FEMA is opening Disaster Recovery Centers in Harris, Liberty, and Trinity counties today. Residents affected by these events are encouraged to apply for assistance.
Residents from the following counties can visit any open center: Calhoun, Eastland, Guadalupe, Hardin, Harris, Jasper, Jones, Lamar, Liberty, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, and Waller. No appointment is necessary.
Locations and operating hours:
- Harris County: Thomas A. Glazier Senior Education Center, 16600 Pine Forest Lane, Houston
- Liberty County: Jack Hartel Building, 318 San Jacinto St., Liberty
- Trinity County: Trinity ISD Boardroom, 101 W. Jefferson St., Trinity

The centers will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Residents can find the nearest center by visiting fema.gov/drc.
Texans do not need to visit a DRC to register for FEMA assistance.
Homeowners and renters can apply by:
- Online: By visiting DisasterAssistance.gov
- Mobile app: Downloading the FEMA App for mobile devices
- Phone: Call the FEMA helpline at 800-621-3362 between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. Assistance is available in most languages. For those using relay services, such as video relay (VRS) or captioned telephone services, please provide FEMA with the service number.
