16-year-old construction worker in Magnolia killed during severe storms

A 16-year-old construction worker died and four people were hit by lightning during Tuesday’s line of severe storms in the Montgomery County area.

The storms, which had powerful winds reaching 75 miles per hour at times, resulted in widespread damage, including numerous downed trees and powerlines throughout the entire county.

In Magnolia, two structures under construction, including a partially built home collapsed. Authorities said the 16-year-old was working on the partially built home located in the 33100 block of Willow Heights when the home collapsed. The teen was recovered from the debris and pronounced dead on the scene.
