HOUSTON – Two Houston area flight attendants have filed a lawsuit against the Jacksonville Jaguars and their kicker Brandon McManus, accusing the player of sexual assault.

According to the lawsuit, which was filed on Tuesday, the two unidentified women said on Sept. 28, 2023, McManus sexually assaulted them while on an Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings flight chartered by the Jaguars.

The lawsuit claims the flight, which was headed from Jacksonville, Florida to London, England, quickly turned into a “party” as McManus and a number of his teammates “disregarded the flight attendants’ personal space, air travel safety, and federal law.” The lawsuit also claims McManus spent the eight-hour flight roaming the plane and, at one point, entered the galley multiple times, even recruiting three other flight attendants to the “party” while passing out $100 bills to encourage them to drink and dance inappropriately for him.

In the lawsuit, one of the flight attendants accuses McManus of assaulting her twice, even claiming the kicker targeted her because she wanted no part of the activities he was showcasing on the plane. The flight attendant detailed the first encounter, which she said happened when the pilot indicated turbulence and required everyone on the plane to wear seatbelts. She said McManus sat next to her on the plane and attempted to kiss her but she blocked his attempt and told him to “go away.”

Shortly after, while the flight attendant was passing out the team’s first meal, she said McManus grabbed her and “grinded” on her.

“Each time, she could feel his erect penis through his clothes as he rubbed himself on her,” the lawsuit read.

The second assault, according to the lawsuit, happened during the second meal service. The flight attendant said McManus came up behind her, grabbed her tightly by the waist and rubbed himself up against her multiple times.

The second flight attendant also documented a similar experience with McManus, saying he came up behind her while on the plane and started “grinding” his erected private area on her.

The women also accused the Jacksonville Jaguars of failing to supervise McManus and failing to create a safe environment for staff serving the team.

They’re seeking an excess of $1 million and are demanding a jury trial.

The Jaguars released the following statement regarding the lawsuit to ESPN:

“We’re aware of the complaint, and we acknowledge the significance of the claims,” the team said. “As we continue to look into the matter, it bears emphasizing that we insist on an organization built by people who represent our community and game with the highest character and class.”

The two women are being represented by Tony Buzbee, the lawyer who represented the women who accused Deshaun Watson of sexual assault in 2022.
