HOUSTON – The Houston Fire Department is investigating after a home in the eastern part of the city caught fire Sunday.
It happened at Greatwood Drive off East Fwy.

Fire crews got the call of a house on fire with people trapped inside. When they arrived, they found flames coming from the home and were told a man had gone back inside the home to try and find his dog.
Firefighters entered the home and did find the man. They were able to get him out and he had several first-degree burns on his body, but he refused transport to the hospital.
At last check, crews were still looking for the man’s dog. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it is believed to have started in the attic of the home.
