Here are the latest updated street closures in Downtown Houston as storm cleanup continues

HOUSTON – More than two weeks after devastating storms caused damage all across the Houston area, street closures continue in Downtown Houston as crews continue to repair damaged buildings.

The Downtown Houston Management District shared the latest updates regarding cleanup and street closures in the area Sunday.

“Street and sidewalk closures remain in place in Downtown to facilitate stabilization work on damaged buildings. The public is strongly cautioned to avoid closed streets and fenced sidewalks for safety. Before taking your METRO Park & Ride, please visit the METRO website, click the Alerts tab, and enter your route to check your usual stop. Some stops are not being served because of detours,” the district said on Facebook.

Here are the current street closures as of June 3:

  • Smith from Clay to Pease
  • Andrews from Smith to Shaw
  • Shaw to Ruthven
  • Bell from Milam to Smith
  • Louisiana from Pease to Clay, and from Polk to McKinney
  • Dallas from Smith to Milam
  • Lamar from Milam to Smith
  • McKinney from Smith to Milam
  • Milam from Capitol to Rusk
  • Travis from Lamar to McKinney is partially closed
  • Travis from Franklin to Commerce
