HOUSTON – Now, we’re going to have to have a conversation about this one, y’all cause I don’t want to believe it either.
Our beloved city of Houston has made yet another list but this time... there’s cause for shame.

According to a recent report from the nonprofit media organization Grist, the city of Houston is the DIRTIEST city in the entire country.
Yes, you read that correctly.
Grist researchers reportedly looked at more than 150 of the biggest cities in the U.S., focusing on pollution, living conditions, infrastructure, and resident satisfaction.
And according to their findings, we weren’t suitable in any of those categories.
WELP, THAT CERTAINLY STINKS.
The write-up featured in The Hill stated that the Grist study analyzed data from various federal agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Census Bureau, Department of Energy, and Environmental Protection Agency.

Houston made its way to the #1 spot of dirtiest cities due to high levels of pollution, a significant cockroach problem, and greenhouse gas emissions from large industrial plants.
Additionally, a 2022 Grist report found that some of Houston’s “petrochemical facilities severely violated EPA safety guidelines.”
For years, we have also been following the disproportionate amount of cancer diagnoses from residents specifically living in the Fifth Ward community where data has linked the chemicals from an old, nearby railroad yard to the health of residents in that neighborhood.
