Goose Creek CISD to host realistic train derailment simulation

If you notice road closures, emergency response vehicles, or aircraft in the vicinity of Carver Elementary School or Horace Mann Junior School, there is no cause for alarm or need to contact the campus. This is part of the planned exercise.

Goose Creek CISD, in collaboration with the Harris County Department of Education’s Center for Safe and Secure Schools and local agencies, will conduct a mock train derailment simulation near Carver Elementary School and Horace Mann Junior School today.

To ensure the simulation is as realistic as possible, residents may hear special audio effects.

Numerous trained volunteers will be on-site to participate in the exercise, and support services will be available to all volunteers and personnel during and after the event.
