Montgomery County’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management has provided resources to help support residents who were impacted by severe storms last month.

Debris Collection
The second round of debris collection will commence on June 12th. Residents must register or call 936-522-2349 to be added to the list. This will be the final round of debris collection. Please ensure debris is separated correctly and placed in the right-of-way, avoiding the use of black trash bags.
FEMA Assistance for Homeowners and Renters
All homeowners and renters are urged to register with FEMA, even if they have insurance. FEMA may offer assistance for needs not covered by insurance. The deadline to apply is July 16, 2024.
- Important: If you receive a denial letter, read it thoroughly. Often, it means additional information is needed.
- Appeal Process: You can appeal FEMA’s decision as many times as necessary by providing new substantiating evidence.
FEMA Disaster Recovery Center (DRC)
The FEMA DRC is located at: 16401 First St., Splendora, TX 77372
- Open daily from 7 AM to 7 PM
- Services include applying for FEMA assistance, learning about disaster assistance programs, checking application status, housing and rental assistance information, referrals to other agencies, and SBA program information.
Red Cross Resource Center
The Red Cross provides casework and may offer additional resources for those impacted. Location: Tullis Library, 21569 US-59, New Caney
- Hours: Monday-Wednesday 9 AM to 7 PM; Thursday-Saturday 9 AM to 4 PM (This week only)
- To visit with a Red Cross caseworker, call 1-800-Red-Cross (800-733-2767).
