Houston-area man charged with murder also tied to disappearance of another young woman

Quan Flowers, 39, in jail without bond

A Baytown missing person case appears to have a connection to a Houston murder case.

The murder victim, Megan Rouse, 24, was found off a desolate road in Southwest Houston last month.

Police, canvassing the area, found surveillance video, they say shows Quan Flowers vehicle leaving the area around the time of the murder on May 3.

Court documents reveal that Rouse was last seen alive at a convenience store less than a half-mile from the house where Flowers had been staying.

Flowers has had a variety of previous run-ins with the law.

During the course of the investigation, police connected Flowers to a missing persons case in Baytown.

Kalie Goodwin, 29, was last seen April 21, 2024. A day later, according to the same criminal charging document, Goodwin’s mother received a terrifying phone call from kidnappers, demanding ransom.

During the call, Goodwin’s mother reports she could hear her daughter screaming in the background.

Flowers’ vehicle was also tied to that case.

“The last time I saw her she was in one piece,” Flowers told investigators, according to the court document.

Flowers has not been charged in that crime.

As of Wednesday, Flowers remained in the Harris County Jail with no bond, facing a murder charge and a drug possession charge.
