The Tomball Cougars have capped off their season in dominant fashion, taking down the Pearland Oilers to claim the 6A State Baseball Championship.
On Saturday, they took down Pearland by a score of 4-1, finishing their campaign with a 41-3 overall record. Yesterday, Tomball took down Johnson 2-0 in the semifinals to earn the right to take on Pearland for the title.

The Cougars were lifted by a strong fourth inning, during which the squad scored all four of its runs. The Oilers weren’t able to get on the board until the bottom of the seventh inning, but the late rally came up short.

This is the Cougars’ second state title in program history, with their first coming in 2013.
